Teen Arrested for Attempted Bank Robbery in Florida
A Florida teenager is behind bars after allegedly attempting to rob a Wells Fargo bank while wearing a disguise that included a mask and a bright pink shower cap. The incident occurred on September 6, and it has caught the attention of authorities.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the 17-year-old suspect, identified as a Black male, entered the Wells Fargo located on West Waters Avenue in Tampa, Florida, around 2:15 p.m. that day.
Once inside, the teenager approached a bank teller and handed over a note. The note demanded money and claimed that the suspect possessed a firearm.
Security footage from inside the bank captured the suspect wearing a mask, sunglasses, a jean jacket, a pink dress, black jeans, white sneakers, and that unforgettable bright pink shower cap.
After the encounter, the suspect fled the bank on foot, disappearing in an unknown direction.
However, the story didn’t end there. On September 13, deputies managed to locate and apprehend the 17-year-old suspect near a public storage unit just east of the Wells Fargo bank. Thankfully, the arrest was made without any incidents.
The teenager is now facing a charge of felony robbery while wearing a mask. He has been transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center to await further legal proceedings.
Sheriff Chad Chronister praised the swift and professional response of his deputies and investigators in capturing the attempted bank robber. He also highlighted the importance of guiding young individuals towards a brighter future, even when they may stray down perilous paths.
