Family of escaped murderer’s victim receiving 24/7 protection as Pennsylvania manhunt continues

Convicted Murderer Evades Police, Victim’s Family Under 24/7 Protection

As a convicted murderer manages to elude law enforcement in the United States, the family of his victim lives in constant fear and receives continuous protection.

Escape and Fear

Danelo Cavalcante, aged 34, convicted of the 2021 murder of his ex-girlfriend and serving a life sentence, has caused immense distress to the victim’s family due to his escape.

“They do have protection, and they are terrified. They haven’t left their home,” revealed Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan during a press briefing.

Desperate Situation

The family remains barricaded inside their home, deeply concerned about their safety. Police have assigned officers to protect them round the clock, yet their anxiety persists.

Escape and Evasion

Cavalcante is still at large after his escape from Chester County Prison in Pennsylvania on August 31.

Longwood Gardens, situated in Chester County, temporarily closed its doors “until further notice” following a potential sighting of Cavalcante in the vicinity.

Outrage and Concern

District Attorney Ryan expressed her frustration, stating, “This is an outrage. This should have never happened. We’re all upset, and we’re all concerned.”

The Escape Unfolded

Acting Warden of Chester County Prison, Howard Holland, shared a video of Cavalcante’s escape during a press conference. The footage reveals the convicted murderer climbing a wall.

Holland also provided a timeline of the escape: At 8:33 a.m., Cavalcante was observed in the exercise yard with fellow inmates. By 8:51 a.m., he was seen scaling a wall, navigating razor wire, crossing the roof, scaling another fence, and again navigating razor wire before successfully leaving the prison.

At 9:35 a.m., Cavalcante’s absence was noticed, and officers alerted central control by 9:45 a.m. The prison was placed on lockdown at 9:50 a.m., with the 911 center being notified.

International Warrant

Cavalcante, who entered the U.S. illegally, is also wanted for murder in his native country, Brazil, according to authorities.

The Chester County District Attorney’s office has classified him as an “extremely dangerous man.”
