Office Chair Horror on Utah Highway
In a heart-stopping moment captured on a car’s dash camera, an office chair hurled into a family’s windshield at high speed on Interstate 15 in Utah. It was a sunny day, and the family was heading south when the unexpected disaster unfolded.
“It happened all super, super quick,” recounted passenger Lily Eaton, still in shock from the ordeal.
The dashcam footage clearly shows a broken piece of furniture soaring through the air, seemingly from out of nowhere, straight toward their vehicle. The family believes a car ahead of them accidentally launched the chair fragment into the air after running it over.
The impact was brutal, causing the broken piece to smash into the windshield, cracking the glass. Inside the vehicle, there were six passengers, and the dash camera captured their terrified reactions before they safely pulled over to collect themselves.
Initially, the family thought the object was a rock, but to their astonishment, it turned out to be a part of a shattered office chair.
While the windshield didn’t completely shatter, it did send shards of glass flying inside the car, leaving one passenger with minor cuts. Fortunately, no one sustained serious injuries.
Eaton offered her theory, suggesting that the chair fragment had been propelled backward after being run over by another car.
“A car two cars over from us ran over it, and we’re assuming that when they hit it, it spat out from under their tire,” explained Eaton. “It went over the car next to us and onto our windshield.”
The family promptly pulled over and dialed 911 to report the incident. Though repairing the car would be an inconvenience, the family is grateful that no one was critically injured in this unexpected encounter.
In the end, it was a harrowing experience that left everyone shaken but thankful for their safety.
