Man Resembling Daniel Khalife Spotted Near Wandsworth Roundabout: Police Uncover New Details

In a recent development, law enforcement authorities have disclosed that a vigilant member of the public observed an individual bearing a striking resemblance to the fugitive, Daniel Khalife, in the vicinity of Wandsworth Roundabout. This newfound information is proving instrumental in piecing together the former soldier’s escape route from HMP Wandsworth.

Daniel Khalife, currently at large and the subject of an intense manhunt led by the Metropolitan Police, made his audacious escape from Wandsworth Prison. Here’s an overview of how this daring escapade unfolded:

How Did Daniel Khalife Escape?

Khalife concealed himself underneath a BidFood food delivery truck while on duty in the prison kitchen on a fateful Wednesday morning. For his getaway, he donned a chef’s uniform comprising a white T-shirt, red and white checkered trousers, and sturdy brown steel-toed boots. Evidently resourceful, the terror suspect is believed to have employed makeshift straps to secure himself to the truck as it exited the infamous prison grounds.

The delivery van commenced its journey from Wandsworth Prison at precisely 7:32 am, departing through the gates onto Heathfield Road. From there, it followed a circuitous path, making several turns on Magdalen Road, Trinity Road (A214), Swandon Way (A217), Old York Road, Fairfield Street, and Wandsworth High Street (A3). Continuing onward, it proceeded along West Hill and Upper Richmond Road (A205).

However, it wasn’t until 8:37 am that the van was intercepted by pursuing law enforcement officers, well over an hour after Khalife’s absence was reported at 7:50 am. Notably, prison authorities didn’t notify the police about his escape until 8:15 am.

Daniel Khalife’s Alleged Crimes

Daniel Khalife, previously a member of the Royal Signal Corps before his discharge, is currently facing charges related to terrorism. Specifically, he stands accused of leaving imitation explosive devices at an RAF base in January, with the intention of causing fear and alarm. Additionally, a charge under the Official Secrets Act alleges that Khalife gathered personal information about military personnel from an MoD computer system, information that could be of value to an adversary.

At the time of his escape, he was detained at Wandsworth prison and scheduled to stand trial on November 20.

Has Daniel Khalife Been Sighted Since His Escape?

In response to Khalife’s escape, a massive manhunt is now underway, with the Metropolitan Police offering a £20,000 reward for any pertinent information. The authorities have also revealed an ongoing investigation into a sighting of Khalife shortly after his prison break.

A concerned member of the public reported seeing an individual resembling the fugitive disembarking from the BidFood delivery van as it halted near Wandsworth Roundabout, at the top of Trinity Road. Subsequently, this individual was observed walking in the direction of Wandsworth town center.

Commander Dominic Murphy, who oversees the Met’s counter-terrorism command, deems this sighting potentially crucial in the ongoing search for Khalife.

In a separate development, the Metropolitan Police is actively seeking to identify a shop assistant who claimed to have encountered Khalife on the day of his escape. The witness described the individual as a “tall, lanky dude” seen running beneath a bridge and entering a black vehicle outside Wandsworth County Court. Authorities are urging this witness to come forward and provide their account by calling 999.

The pursuit of Daniel Khalife continues as law enforcement agencies intensify their efforts to bring the fugitive to justice.
