Cyclist Soars Through the Air in Frightening Car Collision
An alarming event unfolded on August 31st at 7:40pm in Shear Brow, Blackburn, Lancashire. In a shocking incident captured on camera, a cyclist was thrown into the air after colliding head-on with a car.
In the video, we witness the cyclist soaring through the sky following a collision with a silver car. The car, seemingly on the wrong side of the road, crashed into the cyclist’s bright blue bike. This all took place at the Four Lane Ends junction. After the crash, the cyclist remained still on the road for a short time before concerned drivers rushed to offer assistance.
The car’s driver, a 23-year-old from Blackburn, was caught on CCTV overtaking a stationary vehicle while the traffic lights were red. The silver Seat moved into the wrong lane, leading to the collision that sent the cyclist flying from their bike. The cyclist, estimated to be in their 30s, suffered multiple bone fractures and was swiftly taken to the hospital.
A closer examination of the car revealed a shattered windscreen and visible dents on the front. Subsequently, the car’s driver was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury due to reckless driving and driving under the influence of drugs, as shown by the CCTV. The driver is currently in custody while authorities delve into the incident.
The cyclist had the green light, as evident from the traffic light footage. The full extent of the cyclist’s injuries remains uncertain. The North West Ambulance Service confirmed that the injured cyclist was transported to the hospital for medical attention.
