Tragedy Strikes: Three 15-Year-Olds Lose Lives in Car Crash

In a devastating incident near St. Louis, three 15-year-olds tragically lost their lives when the car they were in collided with a vacant brick home. The incident occurred early Wednesday morning, and the details are heart-wrenching.

The car involved, a 2016 Hyundai Accent, was owned by the driver’s mother, as reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the car was “traveling too fast for conditions” when it failed to navigate a curve, resulting in the collision with the home located in University City, Missouri. The time was approximately 6:30 a.m.

All three teenagers, who were classmates at the same high school, were declared deceased at the scene. It’s important to note that in Missouri, the legal driving age is 16. While 15-year-olds can obtain a permit to drive, it comes with the condition that a licensed adult must be in the vehicle with them.

Highway Patrol Takes Charge of Investigation

University City police have requested the assistance of the highway patrol to lead the investigation into this tragic accident. Patrol Cpl. Dallas Thompson revealed that law enforcement had previously attempted to stop a car similar to the one involved in the accident. However, they lost sight of it. The teens attended Ladue Horton Watkins High School, where counselors were on hand to provide support to grieving students. A vigil is being planned as a way for the community to come together during this difficult time.
