Police Respond to Yoga Emergency Call
In a surprising turn of events, police rushed to a community center after an emergency call reported a mass murder scene, only to discover that it was, in fact, a peaceful yoga class in progress.
A concerned member of the public contacted the emergency services upon spotting several motionless individuals on the floor. Fearing the worst, the police arrived at the scene with sirens blaring, expecting a crisis of dire proportions. Their destination was the Seascape Cafe at the North Sea Observatory in Chapel St Leonards, Lincolnshire.
However, the officers quickly shifted from high alert to a more relaxed state when they realized that the motionless figures were not victims but participants of a yoga class deeply engaged in meditation.
The Seascape Cafe’s management took to Facebook to address the incident, reassuring the public: “If anyone heard the mass of police sirens at 9.30 pm last night, then please be reassured. They were on their way to the Observatory after someone had reported a mass killing in our building, having seen several people laying on the floor — which actually turned out to be the yoga class in meditation.”
Lincolnshire Police acknowledged the emergency call made at 8.56 pm on Wednesday, noting that it was made with good intentions. They confirmed that officers attended the scene and happily reported that everyone was safe and well.
The beachfront observatory’s cafe is a regular venue for evening yoga classes. Grateful for the prompt response from the police, the cafe’s managers emphasized that they are not part of any eccentric cult or unusual club. Ultimately, the situation turned out to be a humorous misunderstanding, leaving everyone involved with a sense of relief.
