Fugitive Danelo Cavalcante Captured Alive in Pennsylvania
Danelo Cavalcante, who managed to escape from Chester County Prison, has been apprehended in Pennsylvania after being on the run for nearly two weeks. This development was officially announced by state police on Wednesday morning.
Late Tuesday, a sizable contingent of heavily armed police was observed securing an area in South Coventry Township. However, the precise location of Cavalcante’s capture remained undisclosed.
According to a law enforcement source cited by Fox News, state police and U.S. Border Patrol successfully apprehended Cavalcante near a residence where he had stolen a .22-caliber rifle equipped with a scope and ammunition from an open garage on Monday night. The homeowner had confronted Cavalcante, firing his pistol in an attempt to stop the escape.
Residents in Pennsylvania were urged by the Pennsylvania State Police to secure their homes, as Cavalcante was considered armed and highly dangerous.
Cavalcante had managed to break free from Chester County facility on August 31 while awaiting transfer to a state prison to commence his life sentence for the 2021 murder of his former girlfriend. Additionally, he was wanted for the 2018 killing of a man in Brazil and was believed to be in the U.S. without legal status.
