Convicted Killer Danelo Cavalcante Recaptured After Prison Escape
Pennsylvania authorities have apprehended convicted murderer Danelo Cavalcante, who escaped from Chester County Prison nearly two weeks ago. Cavalcante, found guilty of his ex-girlfriend’s murder in 2021, was serving a life sentence before his escape.
Cavalcante’s escape occurred on the morning of August 31, with the U.S. Marshals Service also seeking him in connection with a homicide case in Brazil. Fortunately, he was taken back into custody on Wednesday shortly after 8:00 a.m.
Now, Cavalcante is under the custody of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and is being held at SCI Phoenix, a high-security state prison.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, “The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) has assumed custody of Danelo Cavalcante as of 3:00 PM on September 13, 2023, to serve his mandatory life sentence for first-degree murder. Cavalcante – Inmate Number QP8931 – is currently housed at SCI Phoenix, a maximum-security prison in Montgomery County.”
This successful recapture puts an end to Cavalcante’s brief escape, bringing him back to justice.
