Britney Spears’ Welfare Check Following Knife Dance Video
Authorities have conducted a welfare check on pop sensation Britney Spears after she shared a video of herself dancing with knives at home. The video depicted the 41-year-old singer twirling around her property while holding large knives.
Police made the visit after concerned fans raised alarms about the clip, according to a source close to Spears. The source assured NBC News that the “Toxic” singer is perfectly fine, dismissing the incident as exaggerated. They explained that Spears was merely expressing her freedom.
In an Instagram post accompanying the video, Spears clarified, “I started playing in the kitchen with knives today!!! Don’t worry, they are NOT real knives!!! Halloween is soon!!!”
On a subsequent Friday, she shared another choreographed video, asserting that she was imitating Shakira, who had danced with knives during her MTV Video Music Awards performance. Spears emphasized, “I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA. These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police.”
She added a salute to “bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks.”
This isn’t the first time fans have expressed concerns prompting a police check on Spears. In January, a similar situation unfolded when she deleted her Instagram account. Spears explained her actions, saying, “The police never entered my home, and when they came to my gate, they quickly realized there was no issue and left immediately.” She expressed feeling gaslit and bullied once the incident reached the news.
The recent incident follows the divorce filing of Sam Asghari, 29, from the singer. Spears addressed the divorce on her Instagram, stating that she was “a little shocked” but had no intention of explaining it further, deeming it “nobody’s business.” The pair had tied the knot in June 2022, the same year Spears regained control of her estate, worth an estimated $60 million, following the end of her controversial conservatorship, which had governed her life since 2008.
