G Flip: From Album Debut to Vibrant US Tour
Australian singer G Flip has made 2023 a remarkable year. With the release of their long-awaited album “DRUMMER,” marking a four-year gap, and the anticipation of their debut U.S. tour this autumn, it’s safe to say that G Flip is on a roll.
Before the curtain rises on the DRUMMER Tour, set to begin on September 18, G Flip has offered a sneak peek into their life on the road. In an exclusive Backstage Pass interview with Us Weekly, the 29-year-old artist shared their pre-show rituals and insights.
To get in the right mindset before performing, G Flip keeps things relaxed. They disclose, “I do a vocal warm-up off YouTube and practice some drumming exercises. I might even throw in some push-ups and jumps to get my blood flowing.”
Right before they hit the stage, G Flip finds vocal alignment with their band through a unique huddle chant. As G Flip expresses, “We do a huddle chant before going on stage. We even came up with a new one because I have a new band member. They’re like my brothers.”
As the show unfolds, G Flip treats fans to their hit songs like “GET ME OUTTA HERE,” “Waste of Space,” and “Bring Me Home.” Yet, their favorite moment on stage is performing “The Worst Person Alive.” G Flip shares, “It’s such a fun song, and I love playing it. I hope the audience screams along with me. It’s meant to be loud and sung along to!”
Beyond the limelight, G Flip values quality time with their wife Chrishell Stause, whom they married in May, and their furry companion. The artist admits, “Though I used to love partying, I now treasure moments with my partner and dog on the couch, especially since I’m away so often.”
Reflecting on past tours, G Flip recounts a wild memory from a night out in Houston. “We were at a bar with a mechanical punching bag machine,” they recall. “My band and I were competing to see who could hit it the hardest, and I ended up breaking my hand. I knew right away and spent the night in the ER. Despite that, I still managed to perform one-handed on stage just eight hours later!”
With the upcoming DRUMMER Tour, G Flip’s journey continues to captivate audiences. Their blend of music, energy, and anecdotes promises an unforgettable experience for fans across the U.S. Grab your tickets for the tour and be part of the excitement!
