Auburn University Seeks Suspect in Assault on Campus
Auburn University in Alabama is on the hunt for a suspect accused of pushing down and assaulting a woman near the campus. The incident occurred on Sunday, just after 8 a.m., at the intersection of Miller Avenue and South College Street, just outside the eastern edge of Auburn’s campus.
The survivor, who was walking toward campus from Gay St., reported that an unidentified male pushed her down, got on top of her, and grabbed her buttocks, according to campus police. Fortunately, a passerby intervened, causing the suspect to flee the scene.
The suspect, as of now, remains unidentified. Police described him as a black male with shoulder-length dreads, around 6 feet tall, with a slender build, no beard or glasses, wearing a yellow shirt and dark pants.
Auburn University authorities are actively investigating this assault case. The university offers door-to-door transportation services on campus through its Security Shuttle program, along with a ride-share initiative called the Lyft Late Night Smart Ride Program.
