Teen Defends Home, Shoots Intruder in Phoenix

In a recent incident in Phoenix, a brave teenage boy took action to protect his home from an intruder. On a Friday night, the teenager shot a suspect who was attempting to break into his house.

The suspect in question, 35-year-old Juan Saavedra, faced consequences for his actions. After the incident, he was taken to the hospital and later booked into jail, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.

The Phoenix Police Department swiftly responded to the situation. The incident took place at 75th Avenue and Camelback Road near Glendale, around 10 p.m. According to police, Saavedra, who had no connection to the home, attempted to forcefully enter it.

Upon hearing the commotion, an adult woman and the teenage boy confronted the intruder. Saavedra had already broken a window and hit a door in his attempt to enter.

In a critical moment, the teenage boy made the decision to protect his family by shooting Saavedra. The suspect sustained non-life-threatening wounds. Detectives carefully examined the evidence at the scene and determined that the teen acted in self-defense.

A neighbor who witnessed the incident expressed support for the family’s actions, saying, “We would have done the same thing, so I feel good for them.”

As a result of his actions, Juan Saavedra was booked into jail with a bond set at $50,000. Fox News Digital reached out to the Phoenix Police Department for additional information but has not received a response.

This incident underscores the importance of self-defense and the right to protect one’s home in cases of intrusion. Phoenix residents can rest assured that law enforcement is dedicated to ensuring their safety in such situations.
