Arizona Thieves Pull Off Bizarre Pickup Truck Heist
In a peculiar turn of events last week, a group of thieves in Arizona orchestrated a rather unusual caper. They disassembled and towed away a local resident’s pickup truck, leaving the victim astonished.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of September 5th near 22nd Avenue and North Valley Parkway, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix. Surveillance footage captured a white pickup truck, presumably the one used by the thieves, making a daring escape with the stolen vehicle in tow.
The unfortunate owner, Jimmy Juber, revealed that the stolen vehicle was none other than his 2023 GMC Denali. He had enjoyed ownership of the truck for just ten short months before it vanished into the night.
“We have OnStar. Thieves these days are so clever,” Juber lamented. “They disable everything, tow it, and off they go.”
According to Juber, the culprits wasted no time. “They’re not messing around. They’re pretty quick in what they were doing,” he remarked.
Bobby Wolf, Juber’s neighbor, chimed in, stating that the entire theft operation took a mere two minutes. The thieves swiftly hitched the truck to their own vehicle and made a hasty getaway.
The story took another twist when the truck’s cab, or driver’s compartment, was discovered on September 6th. However, the thieves had taken it apart, stripped it of valuables, and carelessly discarded it.
This peculiar heist bears a striking resemblance to a previous car theft incident in nearby Peoria, reported by FOX 10. In that case, a white pickup truck had also absconded with an unsuspecting owner’s GMC Denali truck.
The Phoenix Police Department has taken the matter seriously and is actively investigating the incident. If you possess any information about this peculiar theft, they encourage you to reach out to Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (480-948-6377).
