Sofia Vergara Jokes About Single Life After Divorce
Sofia Vergara, known for her role in Modern Family, shared a light-hearted moment during the recent episode of America’s Got Talent. She playfully responded when a contestant tried to flirt with her during the show’s Qualifiers round.
The incident unfolded on Tuesday’s episode as comedian Ahren Belisle took the stage for his second performance of the season. Belisle, who has cerebral palsy and communicates nonverbally, used a text-to-speech app for his standup comedy routine, with his service dog by his side.
After amusingly revealing that his dog can fetch beer, Belisle turned his attention to Sofia Vergara, one of the show’s judges. In a playful exchange, he asked his dog to fetch him a girlfriend, jokingly messing up Vergara’s name as “Sofia Viagra.” Vergara, who recently split from her husband Joe Manganiello, laughed and declared, “I’m here! I’m single!”
Vergara and Manganiello had been married for almost eight years before they announced their divorce. In a joint statement, they expressed their mutual respect and asked for privacy as they navigate this new phase of their lives.
While enjoying a vacation in Italy with friends, news of their separation emerged. Speculation about their relationship began when Vergara celebrated her 51st birthday overseas on July 10.
Although the couple had been known for their romantic displays and affection, their priorities and lifestyles started to diverge. A source revealed that their breakup was due to differences in their social preferences and routines.
Vergara’s humorous response to the contestant’s flirtatious act isn’t the only time her love life has come up on the show. Co-host Howie Mandel jokingly suggested that viewers should help find Vergara a new match through America’s Got Talent.
As the season progresses, Mandel playfully encouraged the audience to vote for a potential match for Vergara. He’s confident that many would consider themselves the perfect match for her, and he believes she’ll have no trouble attracting suitors.
America’s Got Talent airs on NBC every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. Stay tuned for more entertaining moments and unexpected surprises as the show continues.
