In a heartbreaking turn of events, an Alabama sheriff’s deputy has been accused of taking the life of an office employee with whom he had a romantic relationship. This incident is being categorized as a murder-suicide.

According to a press release from the Cullman County, Alabama, Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Kenneth Booth is alleged to have killed Lexi White, a shift supervisor, during a heated argument in Orange Beach. The confrontation eventually escalated to a tragic point where Booth reportedly used a weapon to end White’s life.

In a devastating turn of events, Booth subsequently took his own life.

Sheriff Matt Gentry shared that Lexi White had been part of the sheriff’s office since she was just 16 years old. He expressed profound sorrow and shock, extending heartfelt condolences to the families affected by this tragedy. Sheriff Gentry requested everyone to join in offering prayers for the grieving families and the Sheriff’s Office.

“Lexi has been a part of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office since she was 16. She was a charter member in our Youth Leadership Academy and was involved in every one after that – either as a participant or coach. There are not enough words to express what she and her family mean to me. I am literally heartbroken. I feel like Lexi is one of my own kids,” Sheriff Gentry lamented.

The Orange Beach Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into this deeply distressing incident.
