The Walking Dead: A Decade of Zombie Thrills Comes to an End
Since 2010, AMC’s “The Walking Dead” has been a gripping ride through the zombie apocalypse. Based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series, the show introduced us to a group of survivors struggling to stay alive in the face of constant zombie attacks.
In November 2022, after nearly a decade of suspense, “The Walking Dead” bid farewell. But it didn’t leave without a promise for the future. The finale left fans with hope as the Commonwealth embraced a period of peace. And, to everyone’s surprise, the last episode offered a glimpse of long-lost characters, Rick (played by Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (portrayed by Danai Gurira).
Executive producer Angela Kang credited the source material for allowing the show to conclude on a high note. She said, “Robert Kirkman’s vision of the comic is like closing one chapter while opening another. It’s a zombie story that never truly ends. There’s a sense that things continue in the background, and not everything is fixed. Yet, it’s not a bleak view of the world where people struggle to survive for years only to fail. The goal is to conclude one chapter while letting people know there’s more to the story.”
