Cops and emergency services rushed to the scene but paramedics were unable to save Theo.

He was pronounced dead at the scene roughly 30 minutes after police were called.

On Saturday, officers detained Earl Morit-Britton, 36, of Rose Hill, Sutton and took him to a south London police station.

He will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday accused of murdering Mr Porteous.

The Metropolitan Police had released a CCTV image of a man they wanted to speak to in connection with the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, leading the investigation, said: “My thoughts are with Theo’s family and friends, at what is an unimaginable time for them.

“I have assured them that I and my team will do everything we can to bring those responsible for Theo’s murder to justice.”
